MILLVILLE -- The New Jersey Motorsports Park filled its top two administrative positions, and more hiring is expected before the park opens in July.

The park's investors officially announced Ken Grammer as the managing director and city resident Don Fauerbach as its general manager Tuesday. Grammer's primary responsibilities include overall operations of the park, including staffing, accounting security and day-to-day operations. Fauerbach will oversee sales, public affairs and customer relations.

Fauerbach said the two will work together as "co-pilots" of the park.

"The emphasis is on the word team," he said. "Motor sports is all about that."

Fauerbach said he will resign his position as executive director of the NJ Conference of Mayors on Jan. 31. He has had the position since 1992.

Grammer, an Alabama native, is a former director of operations for SCCA Pro Racing and former president of Synergy Racing. He has been working for more than a month at the park, which he called a "phenomenal facility."

Grammer and Fauerbach are reviewing applications for additional employees, and could fill key positions in April, Grammer said.

NJMP Managing Partner Lee Brahin said the staff will work throughout the year, even though the track will be closed during the winter months. The park could have between 150 and 200 full and part-time employees during major events, he said.

Brahin said Fauerbach, who founded the Green Flag Committee, has helped the organization work with county and municipal governments, and helped solicit advertisers and sponsors.
